TechWARMS's John Brackins wins EWRI Student Paper Award and TTU's CEE UG Best Research Poste
Our team member John Brackins received Third Place in Undergraduate Division of the 2016 EWRI Student Technical Paper Competition, organized by EWRI of ASCE. Winners are chosen from undergraduate students across the country (and possibly even worldwide, as this is a World Water and Environmental Congress). He is invited to present his research at the 2016 World Environmental and Water Resources Congress in West Palm Beach Florida. My students have attended and presented at this conference in the past, but this is the first time that we have a winner from TTU at the congress.
This is an excellent success story of our CEE program and showcases John’s technical, research and communication skills, which are on par or even better compared to undergraduate students across the nation (even worldwide)!!! I am proud to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed mentoring John and look forward to more collaboration in the future.
As a part of the win, John receives an expense reimbursement (up to a certain amount) , complementary registration and a monetary award at the 2016 EWRI World Water and Environmental Congress in West Palm Beach Florida.
John also recently won the Best Student Poster in the CEE-Undergraduate category at the 2016 TTU Student Day Poster Competition organized during the Annual Student Research Day at TTU. See Photo below.
